Schedule
Weekly residential garbage collection is performed Monday through Friday. Visit the Schedule page to see view your customized collection schedule.
- Please place your 95 gallon cart at the curb the night before your pickup day.
- Please face cart towards the street.
- Please place all refuse into 95 gallon cart. - If cart is full place extra refuse into bags and place next to cart (5 bag limit).
- No longer servicing barrels next to cart with loose refuse - must be bagged (up to 5 bags).
- Please do not fill the cart beyond its 150 pound weight limit. Carts in excess of 150 pounds will not be picked up.
Please email us if your cart is lost, stolen or damaged.
Holidays:
Salina Waste Systems does not provide residential collection on the following holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
During these three holiday weeks your service may run differently than regularly scheduled.
Our office makes every effort to reach affected customers in advance by means such as phone calls and public media announcements as well as updates on our website. Please contact our office with any questions.

- Ashes (hot or cold)

- Chemicals
- Dirt, rocks, sod
- Hazardous waste, liquids, paints, oils
- Medical waste
- Tires
- White goods containing CFC’s (appliances)
Extra Garbage, Lawn Refuse & Oversized Items
Extra Trash Allowed
- An extra 5 items (32 gallon sized bags, bundles of limbs or disposable containers) at no additional charge.
- No longer servicing barrels next to cart with loose refuse - must be bagged and inside barrel (up to 5 bags).
- Brush and limbs must be contained or bundled in 3 foot lengths.
- Using 32 gallon as a guide, place extra trash in good quality bags, boxes or other disposable containers.
- Place items at the curb.
Large Items - Call 785-825-9155 at least one day ahead of your pickup day to learn if your items are acceptable and what additional fees may apply.
